Dustin C. Jones
One of only a handful of attorneys recognized nationally for his unique experience representing developers of conventional zoning projects and master planned communities, as well as mixed-used, traditional neighborhood, LEED, green and infill developments, Dustin is on the cutting-edge of land use and real estate development law trends and best practices. Dustin has completed accreditation from the form-based code institute, and will soon complete both LEED-ND and CNU-A credentialing. Dustin utilizes his extensive inter-disciplinary experience in developing and implementing land use visions for his clients, along with working with communities and elected officials to obtain entitlement approvals. As a practicing land use attorney with more than 10 years of experience, Dustin recognizes the interconnected interests of property owners and communities and the importance of the public process to achieve livable communities. Dustin provides legal counsel to localities, developers, homebuilders and landowners alike.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Dustin attended the University of Arizona for both his undergraduate and legal education. He has practiced since 1999 at Arizona’s two largest law firms; first as an Associate at Lewis and Roca, LLP and then as a Partner at Snell & Wilmer, LLP. Dustin joined the distinguished firm of Tiffany & Bosco, PA as chairman of its Zoning & Land Use practice in 2007, before launching the Livability Law practice in 2010.
As a result of his practice and community endeavors, Dustin soon became a valley favorite, cited routinely in such publications as The Arizona Republic and West Valley Magazine, and The Phoenix Business Journal. In fact in 2006, Dustin was inducted into the elite “Forty Under 40” club by The Phoenix Business Journal and was named one of the “West Valley 24 Movers and Shakers” in 2007.
As an active member of multiple city boards and committees, Dustin is in touch with community needs and future development trends. Dustin has served as local municipal Planning Commissioner and currently serves on the Maricopa County Board of Adjustments, one of the nation’s fastest growing counties. Dustin’s involvement with Arizona State University includes serving on the Community Advisory Board of Channel EIGHT at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and lecturing on New Urbanism and Form Based Codes. He serves regularly as a guest speaker with the Form Based Code Institute (FBCI), the Arizona Planning Association, Urban Land Institute and other development forums. Dustin is a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, theU.S. Green Building Council, Valley Forward, Valley Partnership and the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, and Phoenix Green Chamber of Commerce. Dustin served with distinction as part of the Governor’s African American Advisory Board.
