• Congress for the New Urbanism – A leading organization consisting of planners, developers, architects, engineers, public officials, and investors promoting walkable, mixed-use neighborhood development, sustainable communities and healthier living conditions.
• Form-Based Codes Institute – The FBCI aims to set the standard for the practice of form-based coding by providing premier resources for education, outreach, and discussion forums.
• CNU Next Generation – about.php This is a group of emerging professionals and students who are helping further the goals and principles of the New Urbanism.
• New Urban News – A professional newsletter providing information and coverage of the development of human-scale communities.
• Urban Land Institute - A nonprofit research and educational organization created to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.
• U.S. Green Building Council - A nonprofit community of leaders dedicated to green and sustainable building design, construction, and neighborhood development. They also maintain the certification and credential requirements for the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
• U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development - This government organization strives to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. -Regulatory Barriers Clearinghouse - Provides current information on housing needs, market conditions, and existing programs for priority housing and community development issues.
• U.S. Environmental Protection Agency -Green Building - Provides resources and information on creating and using healthier and more resource- efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of buildings.
-Sustainability - Provides resources and access to EPA programs related to urban sustainability, water and ecosystem services, renewable energy, and material management.
• American Institute of Architects - A professional membership association providing advocacy, education, and informational resources for the architecture profession.
• American Planning Association - An independent, not-for-profit educational organization providing leadership in the development of vital communities. They also maintain the certification and credential requirements for the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
• Arizona Planning Association - The official Arizona chapter of the American Planning Association providing resources and education for the planning and development community in Arizona.
• Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program - This educational institution provides analysis, research and policy ideas aimed at improving the health and prosperity of cities and metropolitan areas.
• Planetizen - A public-interest information exchange providing resources for the urban planning, design, and development community. Includes news, commentary interviews, book reviews, job and consultant listings, and education resources.
• Sonoran Institute - This nonprofit group works across the rapidly changing West to conserve and restore natural and cultural assets to promote better management of growth and change.
• Center for Transit-Oriented Development - A joint effort with Reconnecting America to provide best practices, research and tools to support market-based transit-oriented development solutions to improve housing affordability, revitalization of downtowns and neighborhoods. They also seek maximize efforts of individuals, communities, and transportation agencies for using transit for sustainable development.
• The Local Government Commission’s Center for Livable Communities - An organization of elected officials, city and county staff interested in promoting the Ahwahnee Principles in communities
• Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development, U.S. Department of Energy - The U.S. Department of Energy’s website devoted to resources and information regarding sustainable energy and practices.
• Downtown Research and Development Center - An information clearinghouse devoted to providing research and information ideas for the revitalization of downtown areas.
• Center for Applied Transect Studies - A group that promotes the understanding of the built environment as part of the natural environment, through planning methodology of the rural-to-urban transect.
• National Town Builders Association - An organization that serves builders and developers throughout the nation in an effort to build the very best traditional neighborhoods and town centers.
• National Trust for Historic Preservation - This national organization provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resource the help save America’s diverse historic places and buildings and revitalize our communities.
• National Charrette Institute - A nonprofit educational institution the helps to build community capacity for holistic collaboration to create healthy community plans.
• New Urban Guild – A group of architects, planners, and designers dedicated to promoting the creation of better places through traditional patterns of architecture and urbanism found in many of the World’s greatest cities.
• Smart Growth America - A coalition of national, state and local organizations working to improve the ways we plan and build the towns, cities and metro areas we live in.
• Sustainable Communities Network - Provides resources and information on a broad range of issues associated with creating sustainable communities in urban and rural areas.
• The Town Paper - A publication specializing in the providing current information on traditional neighborhood design around the country.
